Not a space picture, but something I’m a bit proud of. This is a 1985 @takamineguitars_official GX-100 that I bought in 1989 for $75. It sat in a bag for 20 years after a miserable attempt at refinishing it without a clue. At the kids request, it’s in a crackle finish like Eddie’s BC Rich Warlock in @strangerthingstv that was a wet sanding nightmare to get smooth, but it was worth the work. There are about 25 coats of clear on it and I still need to do a final polish and wax!!! At 37 years old, it is still the best playing and by far the most metal guitar I’ve ever owned!!

A little late for Valentine’s Day. Still working through some processing techniques on older data. That’s all.

Reposting and hoping IG compression doesn't destroy this one also. Anyway. I'm working out some processing techniques on old data. This was taken back in December of 2020 with a 97% moon as a bit of an experiment on the @radiantelescopes Traid Ultra filter. It definitely not the greatest data to work with, but not bad for 4 hours of data during a 97% moon in a Bortle 8/9.

Bored during the snow storm sweeping the country. This is a crop of some data from last Summer.

Meh. I'm out of processing practice, so this is what I've come up with for about 5.5hrs in IC434 and the surrounding area before I end up throwing the PC across the room.

About the Site

Katorella is a mashup of my daughters names that I had originally made up for a bike that I never built. They adopted the name, but I stole it back for my astronomy endeavors.

I’ve been casually into Astronomy for decades, but more recently I’ve taken a serious interest. I’ve been really imaging since 2017 from just outside Chicago, which creates challenge after challenge. I want to prove that you can do this from anywhere without spending your whole life’s savings.

I believe that anyone who wants to make their own art from hidden treasures in the sky should be able to go for it!
